The 31-year-old Brazillian Chelsea winger, Willian, has been linked with a free transfer to Arsenal. After the loss in the FA Cup final, Willian’s time at Stamford Bridge is coming to an end. The deal between Arteta and Lampard is aimed to be finalized within the following few days. If this deal goes through, Willian will be reuniting with former Chelsea team mate, David Luiz and following him in the footsteps of Petr Cech.

Arsenal have been regarded as a retirement home for Chelsea players by some. With David Luiz at 32 and Willian at 31, it looks like their careers are nearly at an end. But until that happens, they are sure to put some effort into whatever time they have left.

I personally think this will be a good link up at Arsenal. It’s worked with Aubameyang, Mkhitaryan and Sokratis who all played at Borrusia Dortmund and are now playing at the Emirates. So I believe David Luiz will become more confident in his play now that his fellow Brazilian is linked with this move. It will also mean a mentor to Gabriel Martinelli, in my opinion.

Other transfer links with Arsenal include Coutinho of Barcelona, Partey of Atletico, Fernandes of Sporting, Zaha of Palace and da Silva of Brentford.
