Nicolas Pepe (24), who was born in France, but will represent Ivory Coast in the Africa Cup of Nations, plays for Lille in the Ligue 1. He is one of the hottest prospects in Europe at the moment. Nicolas Pepe joined Lille from Angers in 2017, and has impressed in 2018/19 Ligue 1 campaign for Lille, which has caught the eye of top European Clubs.
The 24 year old, helped Lille finish 2nd with 75 points, while PSG clinched the Ligue 1 title for second season in a row with 91 points. Nicolas Pepe starred for Lille in the 2018/19 season with 24 goals & registered 11 assists which has helped Lille to a second place finish.
He is a fast left footed player, who plays on the right side of the Lille midfield. On the right hand side, he dribbles past defenders with his quick pace, and cuts inside to get his shot away from his left foot. He finds himself in many ideal positions to release a ball through to the opposite winger or a ball through to the main striker, giving other players options on the attack. Pepe has a good left foot and tries to score goals from outside the box, he is more than just a winger with a left foot, he has many strengths to go with his acceleration, speed & dribbling capabilities.
Pepe moved to Angers in 2013 after beginning his career at amateur side Poitiers (now Stade Poitevin). In 2015 he joined Angers senior team after the 1st time back in Ligue 1 since 1994, after a loan spell at US Orleans.
The 22 goals and 11 assists for Lille in Ligue 1, will make Nicolas Pepe a wanted man in Europe, and shows that he can be a huge asset for a top quality team, reports suggest Liverpool & Bayern Munich are keeping a close eye on the Lille man.
