AFTV have reported that Arsenal are showing interest in three Premier League strikers to sign in January. Which one will they go for? Let’s take a look at their current respected stats in the league and then I will give my honest opinion on who we should prioritise.
Ollie Watkins – Matches – 6; Goals – 1; Assists – 0 ; Yellow cards – 1; Red cards – 0
Dominic Calvert-Lewin – Matches – 3; Goals – 3; Assists – 0; Yellow cards – 0; Red cards – 0
Raheem Sterling – Matches – 8; Goals – 1; Assists – 0; Yellow cards – 0; Red cards – 0
So, with all that in mind, my honest opinion on who Arsenal should sign this January coming is Ollie Watkins. I feel since he’s joined Aston Villa, he’s made them a better team than where they were the year before the signing. I believe that if Arsenal sign Watkins, that will happen for us. Calvert-Lewin has been good this season but in terms of playing ability and what Watkins offers on the pitch, I just feel Ollie edges it just slightly.
Sterling, I would love to see in an Arsenal shirt. However, we could never afford him. I think myself and many other AFC fans would go mental if that signing actually happened. If I thought Mikel Arteta and Edu could sign Sterling for one second, I would 100% say he’d be playing at the Emirates. Unfortunately, I think it’s a very unlikely signing for the Gunners to make.
Arsenal play Aston Villa on Friday and I feel Watkins will definitely score that game. If he does, then I feel my opinion on prioritizing him will be justified.
