Following Lazio's failure to qualify for the Champions League, Serbian midfielder, Sergej Milinkovic-Savic has fallen subject of interest from Jose Mourinho's Manchester United but the in-form 23-year-old is set to make his potential suitors bide their time, the Manchester Evening News reports.
Milinkovic-Savic will head to Russia to compete in the upcoming FIFA World Cup and has revealed that he will only decide where to continue his career after the tournament meets its conclusion. With a move away from the Stadio Olympico seemingly a certainty, United, who have already agreed a fee for Shaktar Donetsk's Fred, are in the market for another man in midfield.
If Serbia and Milinkovic-Savic impress in Russia, the ex-Genk man could command a club record fee from the Red Devils who will hope to recruit well in order to knock Manchester City off top spot next season.
Despite the rumours, the youngster refuses to contemplate a move away from Italy with his focus very much on his nation. "I am trying to remain concentrated, even though every day I read something new about me. Obviously, I feel the pressure on me and know that I'll have to live with this situation throughout the World Cup" said Milinkovic-Savic.
"I will decide where to continue my career after the World Cup. There's a very good atmosphere among the squad and it feels like I've been here for years. I can't wait to start the tournament."
With 15 goals in 48 appearances for Lazio last time out, it is no wonder that Milinkovic-Savic, who will pair up with United man, Nemanja Matic at the heart of the Serbian midfield, is so heavily linked with a big money move.
