As Unai Emery continues his summer recruitment in the wake of Arsene Wenger's resignation, his next transfer target has laid clues on social media regarding his potential move to North London despite heading to Russia for the upcoming World Cup, football.london reports.
Sampdoria midfielder, Lucas Torreira is the latest player to join the long list of those linked with a move to the Emirates and he has teased Gunners fans after his Instagram activity revealed he had followed the accounts of both Arsenal and Gunners midfielder Mesut Ozil.
Following another productive Serie A campaign, the 22-year-old defensive midfielder will almost certainly be on the move and Emery will face stern competition for the youngster who has a €25m release clause, with Borussia Dortmund and Napoli set to rival Arsenal for Torreira's signature.
Torreira, who only has one international cap to his name, has been selected in a Uruguay squad that will see him face hosts Russia, Egypt, and Saudi Arabia in the coming weeks as he remains likely to follow Stephan Lichtsteiner to pit his wits in England.
The Pescara youth product previously moved to Sampdoria in 2014 for just €1.5m but will now demand a much heftier fee as he continues to turn the heads of Europe's finest. Four goals in 36 appearances ensured an impressive return for Torreira who quickly became a regular for Marco Giampaolo's side - who finished the 2017/18 season in 10th place.
