Spurs vs Manchester City, Pochettino vs Pep, 1st vs 2nd. This has all the ingredients to be an absolute cracker! The two sides haven’t lost in the league this season, will that remain that way or which team will take all three points?
City, at the top of the table are looking really dangerous this year. Pep has changed Manchester City. The players look sharper than ever and are ruthless when they’re ahead. The visitors will be hoping that someone can fill Kevin De Bruyne’s boots this afternoon as he’s been ruled out with an hamstring injury. Striker Agüero will be the man City will be praying to deliver today. I’m sure Spurs fans, like myself will hope Alderweireld and Vertonghen can keep him quiet.
Spurs boss Mauricio Pochettino will be hoping Tottenham can dominate possession just like in previous games and supply pressure on the City players when they’ve lost the ball, this is a huge positive to the Spurs team when they’re out of possession. The home side will be hoping striker Vincent Janssen can get off the mark today and finish off their class moves to reduce the gap between the two sides.
I hope Rose, Dier, Dembele and Sissoko are all ready to play in the top of the table clash. Pochettino didn’t want to risk any of the four players in the Champions League match against CSKA Moscow on Tuesday night. If someone can finish off the chances we create, we’ll have a massive chance to win the game. Can we ruin their 100% unbeaten record? You’ll be a fool to miss it!
My predicted XI:
Walker, Alderweireld, Vertonghen, Rose
Lamela, Eriksen, Son
