Why Spurs Will NOT Win the Title

As the days of this year’s season continue to lessen, it’s time for Tottenham fans to realize one thing: It’s Over. No, our top four hunt isn’t over. It’s the realization that Chelsea is too far ahead, and we can’t stay healthy. Here are the factors of why it’s time to focus overall on just getting into a top four Champions League spot.

In the Premier League:

Chelsea are clearly the favorites to win the title at this point. Spurs are 11 points back of the leaders, but only 10 games to go. It almost seems impossible for Chelsea to struggle that much with the squad they have. Spurs are only 6 points ahead of Arsenal, proving the point that the race for top four is more important than trying to conquer the near impossible.

The Injuries:

Injuries have been a thing that has haunted Spurs before and is now seeming like it will happen all over again. Star striker Harry Kane is now predicted to be out for about 3-4 weeks. Kane is looking to return after the international break and will look to carry Spurs into the FA Cup final. A big piece of the defense that has been missing lately is Danny Rose. Rose is predicted to be back in early April. Ben Davies looked very shaky as the starter, but is starting to get into a rhythm. Erik Lamela still continues to nurse a hip injury that he suffered in Spurs 3-2 loss to Liverpool in the EFL Cup on October 25th. Pochettino has admitted that Lamela may end up missing the rest of the season.

Positives:

There are still plenty of positives to take from this season. Even if we do not win the Premier League title, we were once again in the hunt. As it stands, it will be another season heading into the Champions League. Spurs are also in the FA Cup Semi-finals and will have a thrilling clash with Chelsea to see who can head to the final to play the winner of the Arsenal- Manchester City match.
