Tottenham Hotspur have put their foot forward to sign Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish with an ambitious £15 million offer, according to Sky Sports.
Villa’s main man Grealish has attracted interest from several Premier League clubs including Chelsea and Leicester.
But it’s the white side of North London that have made the first move for the 22-year-old. The young playmaker was valued at £40 million by the Midlands club but with their financial difficulties, Villa will struggle to meet their asking value and may have to take a cut offer to aid their money problem.
It was rumoured Grealish would have liked to stay at Villa Park for another year following their play-off final heartbreak at the hands of Fulham. But his superb season in the Sky Bet Championship as one of the star performers in the division was a major factor to Villa’s path to the final.
The £15 million offer is drastically under Villa’s valuation which may steer Grealish to Stamford Bridge with Chelsea willing to pay £30 million. The Blues’ offer also allows the young midfielder to be loaned back to Aston Villa for the 2018/19 season.
A move to Chelsea could leave Grealish as a fringe player like many of the promising youngster who either get dished out on loan or sold to a smaller Premier League side.
Whereas a move to White Hart Lane may favour the former England and Ireland under-21 international with more playing time and opportunities to grow as a player.
£15 million is an optimistic bid from Spurs but with Aston Villa needing to sell, the money may lure the Villa superstar out.
