Spurs latest club to be linked with a move for Aston Villa star

Tottenham Hotspur are considering a move to snap up Aston Villa ace Jack Grealish, according to Sky sources.

After evading a HMRC winding-up order, Villa are still experiencing financial difficulties and the Midlands club may have to seek revenue from selling players.

No sale would be harder to take than losing Grealish, their main attraction. The playmaker shone in the Sky Bet Championship last season, lighting up Villa park with his bright, energetic and explosive attacking play.

However, Spurs are looking to snatch the midfielder away from Villa Park, but newly promoted Fulham are also looking to bring the 22-year-old to Craven Cottage.

The former England and Republic of Ireland U21 international featured 34 times for Villa in all competitions, scoring three and having eight assists to his name.

To be even more effective at the top level, not only does Grealish need to be assisting but also scoring. He must gamble, take that extra step forward beyond the oppositions defence to be in goal scoring opportunities.

The 22-year-old diminished his problems off the field and produced a stunning campaign in which he led Steve Bruce’s side to the Play-off final, losing 1-0 to Fulham on the brink of a return to the top flight.

But, Grealish could be on his way to the Premier League himself. The promising youngster has been monitored by English giants Arsenal and Manchester United.

In May, Sky Sports reported Leicester were heavily interested in Grealish but it seems the midfielder could be on the way to White Hart Lane.

Villa will be hoping to keep the talented midfielder as they look to bounce back from Wembley heartbreak and push for promotion again next season.

But with the very top, high profile English clubs hunting after Grealish, Villa could see their prized possession snatched away.
