With Chelsea running away with the title, 10 points clear at the top. The title race has had no drama at all, however the race for the next 3 spots have and certainly will going in to the last 10 games of the season.
Here’s my take on who will and won’t make the top 4…
With the blues 10 points clear at the top of the premier league it would take a complete collapse for them to lose the title, let alone a top 4 place. They have a great quality in every area of the pitch and not being in Europe has helped massively this season and to me there is no reason why they would bottle it now.
It’s been a very impressive season for Spurs after their capitulation at the end of last season. They are on fantastic league and cup form, not losing in either of the competitions since mid-December. However, they suffered a massive blow in their recent 6-0 win over Millwall, with Harry Kane getting injured early on. He is the league’s joint top goal scorer on 19 goals and the injury could prove costly for them. However, with no European football and that being proved crucial to Chelsea’s successful season I think they’ll just make it.
The sky blues are also enjoying a great run of form, unbeaten in all competitions since mid-January. Aguero and Sane are both on unstoppable form with Sterling and Silva playing well too. The goalkeeper issue has been resolved with Caballero now starting ahead of Bravo and their defence has looked solid too recently. With all these reasons combined there is no reason as to why they won’t make it in my opinion.
After a poor run of form they have recovered well and seem to be back to winning ways, with back to back wins at the start of this month. With no cup or Europa League football and a long injury list with some players soon to return they look good in a good position to achieve it and for me will do relatively comfortably.
With Gunners fans protesting over Wenger not getting a new contract combined with bad form on the pitch, there looks a good chance that this could be their first season missing out on the top 4 since 1995/96 season. They play no European football now which may help but I don’t think that will be enough. Their defence has looked a shambles without Koscielny of late and don’t have enough quality players in attack with the exception of Sanchez.
After a poor start to the season, United have recovered well but the Red Devils keep slipping up in the games they need to be winning. They are in with a good chance of winning the Europa league and may focus on that more than a top 4 finish, especially with winning the Europa League guaranteeing you a Champions League spot for the next season, with 1 trophy already under their belt, if they were to win or get to the final of the FA cup and Europa League it would not be a disastrous season if they were to miss out.
