With Chelsea looking likely to claim the Premier League title, the race for European football next season heating up. We take a look into the clubs fighting for a place among Europe's elite.

Chelsea - The most obvious of candidates to take a Champions League place and the league title. Chelsea currently sit sixteen points clear of fifth place and are running away with the league. It is hugely unlikely that Chelsea can fall out of the top four, meaning Champions League football will return to Stanford bridge next season. Up next for the West London club is Stoke City, going on current form the blues should take all three points.

Tottenham - Spurs are looking to claim a high finish in the premier league but not the finish that they wanted. The lily Whites are placed in second in the league but are ten points off Chelsea in first place. But the chance of a Champions League place is very high as they sit six points ahead of North London rivals Arsenal in fifth. A major concern though is Harry Kane who suffered ligament damage last time out. With out there main man goals might be harder to come by for Spurs. Southampton at home are Tottenham's next opponents and at this stage every game is important. The saints were the last visiting club to win at White Hart Lane and that was over a year ago.

Manchester City - Currently third place, Manchester City are six points ahead of fifth. City have massively underachieved this season. One of the favourites of for the title at the beginning of the season with new manager Pep Guardiola taking over but that did not turn out that way. The sky Blues are in a comfortable place to secure a top four finish, and try to improve on this years European campaign crashing out to Monaco in mid week. Next up for City is Liverpool, and crucial game in the race for champions league with either club could be at risk of dropping down the table if they drop points.

Liverpool - The Reds haven't had the best 2017 after a great start to this seasons campaign but are still in a great place to achieve Champions league football next season. Currently five points clear of dropping out of the top four but have played two more games than Arsenal in fifth place but could easily drop into a Europa league place. With Man City next, a game that could be defining in the race for Europe, a win will be extremely important.

Arsenal - Currently in fifth place Arsenal fans are clearly not happy with how their team are performing this season and almost every season. But for the first time in over twenty years the Gunners might not qualify the Champions League. Five points off the top four and not performing well in the league, Arsenal might have to settle with a Europa league place if they don't start upping there game. A positive for Arsenal is that they have a game in hand on the teams above them and two games in hand on Liverpool. If a champions league palace is what Arsene Wenger and his team wants then all three points over West Brom next in the next fixture is crucial.

Manchester United - The red devils are another side that have not lived up to expectations this season. Some of there players just have not performed up to there vale. United currently sit sixth but haven't lost a game in 2017 and are certainly looking up. Jose Mourinho's side are still six points off a champions league place and are looking at another year in the Europa league unless they can succeeded in that competition this season or somehow creep into the top four. Next league encounter Manchester United travel to struggles Middlesbrough, which should be an easy win if recent results are anything to go on.

Its looking like a really exciting end to this seasons premier league. But who will make the Champions league and who will contest the Europa league.
