GK: De Gea- 6
Didn’t have much to do as Arsenal’s only attempt on target was the goal, which he could do nothing about. Distribution at times was surprisingly poor.
RB: Valencia- 7.5
Looked excellent going forward, especially in the first half. Numerous occasions he went past Ramsey and Monreal with ease. Not as effective in the second half but contained Arsenal’s threat.
CB: Jones- 6.5
Didn’t do much wrong. Contained Sanchez and Arsenal’s attack throughout to a near bare minimum. Was however beaten in the air by Giroud for the equaliser late on.
CB: Marcos Rojo- 7
Made some important tackles throughout the game. Distribution especially early on was very poor, giving the ball away a few times. Overall though looked solid and probably contained Arsenal’s attack enough to deserve the clean sheet.
LB: Darmian- 6
Yellow carded early on and was probably lucky to stay on the pitch after the foul he committed soon afterwards. Was taken off in the second half as he struggled to play out of position.
CM: Herrera- 8
Played well. Provided a great cutback square ball to set up Mata for United’s goal. His passing throughout was superb and consistent. At times was the driving force behind United’s attacks.
CM: Carrick- 6.5
Did a lot of dirty unrecognised work. He will be pleased that he contained Ozil throughout the game. Although, would of been disappointed not to be more effective on the ball.
CM: Pogba- 7
Going forward looked very good and his strength and control of the ball made it a nightmare for Arsenal defenders at times to tackle him. Won a lot of aerial battles, although in between he went missing in parts of the game.
LW: Martial- 7
Forced Cech in the first half to pull a couple of good saves from shots. However in the second half and much of the first he was incredibly non-existent struggling to get in to the match. Was replaced by Rooney early in the second half.
ST: Rashford- 5.5
Rashford’s worst performance in a United shirt to date in my opinion. Never really got in the game and was pushed out wide to get touches on the ball, was very isolated and non effective.
RW: Mata- 8.5 *
Took his goal brilliantly. Passing was very good and movement was superb. Posed a real threat throughout to Arsenals back line. Undeservedly booked for showing passion when he scored.
Rooney (Martial) 62′- 6
Blind (Darmian) 63′- 6.5
Schneiderlin (Mata) 84′- 6
GK: Cech- 7
Made some important saves in the first half to deny Martial and Mata. Couldn’t do anything about United’s goal.
RB: Jenkinson- 7
Made some important tackles in the game. Passing was lacklustre at times but restricted and isolated Martial’s involvement in the game to a minimum.
CB: Mustafi- 7.5
Arsenal’s best player. Was very strong in the air, winning numerous aerial battles. Many thought Rashford’s pace would of troubled the German but it was the opposite. Contained Rashford throughout.
CB: Koscienly- 7
Won aerial battles just like his partner. His passing was excellent especially being a centre back.
LB: Monreal- 6.5
Struggled in the first half against Valencia. But in the second half he found a way to deal with the full back. Could of conceded a penalty in the first half but the referee rightly waved away.
CDM: Coquelin- 7.5
Made some vital tackles throughout the game. Making the most tackles in the game, he provided a needed defensive wall. Passing improved after a nervy start. Replaced late on for a more of an attacking approach.
CDM: Elneny- 6.5
Passing was very accurate throughout, having the best accuracy percentage on the pitch. However was dispossessed on numerous occasions and wasn’t the defensive shield that his partner was. Was replaced as he lacked an attacking threat.
RW: Walcott- 7
Passing was very good, although didn’t make a huge impact on the game. Dispossessed a few times. Skillful link up play shown a few times.
CAM: Ozil- 5.5
Very disappointing. Another big game where Ozil was extremely ineffective. Never challenging the United defense or barely getting on the ball. Was a big reason why Arsenal was so poor.
LW: Ramsey- 6
Struggled. Was never really in the game and was dispossessed on a number of occasions. Looks isolated on the wing and will be desperate to retain his central role.
ST: Sanchez- 7
Looked a real threat early on with skillful play and movement shown. But faded out as the game went on dropping incredibly deep to get touches on the ball, resulting in Arsenal lacking a goal scoring threat until Giroud came on.
Giroud (Elneny) 73′- 7
Vital substitution. Scored a powerful head right at the end to rescue a point.
Xhaka (Coquelin) 80′- 6
Oxlade-Chamberlain (Jenkinson) 89′ – 7
Great substitution. Provided a wonderful cross for Giroud to head home.
