A statement has been released by Arsenal stating the following:
“Following his latest disciplinary breach last week, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang will no longer be our club captain, and will not be considered for selection for Wednesday’s match against West Ham United.
We expect all our players, particularly our captain, to work to the rules and standards we have all set and agreed.
We are fully focused on tomorrow’s match.”
My thoughts are simple on this matter. I do not agree with this in any way, shape or form. I compare this to being late for school twice within a year and being expelled for it. Ridiculous and unfair. I’ve been so adamant on Mikel Arteta being fired from Arsenal since our loss to Villarreal in the Europa League semi final last season. But this is icing on the cake for me. We have had our best player since Alexis Sanchez removed from the captaincy position.
I feel Aubameyang is being treated unfairly. What I believe to have happened is that he asked for a trip away to get his tattoo, came back later than he was supposed to which was probably not even his fault, he was left out against Southampton because of it and he was understandably upset over this. I feel he has made a complaint about it and this has resulted in this unfair consequence.
All I have to say to this now is what I’ve been saying for over the past year. Arteta Out.
