On Sunday Afternoon Middlesbrough played Chelsea under the floodlights for the 1st time this season. Both teams have been in very good form. The players came out to an absolutely rocking Riverside Stadium. It was Chelsea who ran the show in the first half. A mistake from Middlesbrough led to Chelsea’s first game which came in from a corner and Diego Costa was there to put it into the net to make it 1-0.

In the 2nd Half Middlesbrough woke up and showed something good for the fans to cheer about. The atmosphere was brilliant and Middlesbrough and Chelsea had several Chances with Middlesbrough who should of got something from it. On the other hand Chelsea should of had 3 or 4 goals with Costa and Moses breaking away several times but they didn’t find the target. Adama Traore & Gaston Ramirez both showed promise for Middlesbrough during the Game.

In my Opinion I think Chelsea looked the better team with Diego Costa & Victor Moses causing threats all game. I think Middlesbrough need to look for someone who can score goals and cause an aerial threat even though Alvaro Negredo fits that bill, he simply hasn't delivered for 'Boro this season. Leicester is a must win game on Saturday if we want to challenge to stay in the Premier League this season

The Tee-side club sit a point outside the relegation zone as it stands but have scored the joint fewest goals in the Premier League. This is sure to be a concern for Aitor Karanka as Middlesbrough are unlikely to depend on a solid defensive structure which served them so well in the Football League. However a loss to Chelsea is no disgrace with that win taking Conte's men top of the league after 12 games. With Costa and Hazard back on form it's not going to be easy to take points of the Blues this season and this won't be the type of game where Middlesbrough have to collect all three points even if it does put pressure on them to produce more when it really matters.

Attendance: 32,704 (3,066 Chelsea Fans)
