It had been a tough few seasons for Liverpool before Jurgen Klopp “the normal one” arrived at Merseyside. Under Klopp, it has been a steady improvement for the squad and their performance likewise. Last season, the German led The Reds again to a top four finish and brought Champions league nights back to Anfield. Klopp has already made some changes in the squad but keeping our No.15, Daniel Sturridge was the biggest decision. He has already made additions to the squad this summer with Mohammad Salah, Dom Solanke and a young lad Liverpool Season Preview!from Hull City-Andy Robertson being the notable ones. Left back has always been a worrying position for the past few years for Liverpool with Alberto Moreno failing to perform and James Milner filling up the void space as a utility left-back last season and performing well. So, personally, I feel that Andy would be a great addition and hope to see him in action against Watford.
Liverpool has made a good start with an impressive 3-0 win against Bayern which showed their attacking prowess and an improved defensive performance. Klopp has made his plans clear this season and has urged his players to put up an even more improved performance in the league.
Klopp is still interested in Virgil Van djik to sort his defensive problems but what has been Liverpool’s biggest advantage is the attacking force up front. With Firmino in the middle, Salah and Sadio on the wings……and a bit of Coutinho’s magic, leaving the league’s best defenders bamboozled. Emre Can’s contract seems to be settled, the Reds have strength and depth in midfield.
CHAMPIONS LEAGUE PREVEW:
Liverpool’s draw in the Champions league play-off is the German club Hoffenheim with the away leg kicking off on 16th and return home leg in a week’s time. Klopp has already stated that Hoffenheim is a strong team but is confident that the players can come through the challenge and guarantee a spot in the group stages. Fans have been optimistic of this and let me be a little over ambitious in predicting a 3-1 on an aggregate win for Liverpool. Adam Lallana has been declared injured with the creative midfielder sidelined for about three months. His experience and work-rate would be surely missed in the Champions League games.
This season is going to be a cracker with Man City, Spurs and Man united all spending big in the window. All big guns have made their move and it’s time for Liverpool to show the entire world what they are capable of and lift the prestigious Premier League Trophy after a long wait.
