From having a gun pointed at your head in the infamous favelas of Brazil, to scoring in the Premier League it has been a meteoric rise to stardom for the South American native. One only has to look back at Watford’s 2-0 win over West Ham, where Richarlison scored to see the Brazilian’s immense talent, but despite his talent, the Brazilian last scored in the Premier League over 4 months ago.

Flashback to October 2017 and Marco Silva’s Watford were in a sky-high 8th in the Premier League, the football they played was exciting and quick more associated with Sunny Barcelona than Rainy Hertfordshire. Richarlison, Hughes, Doucoure and Andre Gray were in top form, and it may have seen that the manager sacking Pozzo family had finally found a manager they could stick by. But, all was to be rerailed by Everton.

With boss, Ronaldo Koeman sent to the job centre in late October Toffees Owner Farhad Moshiri flirted with the idea that Marco Silva as his replacement. And Marco Silva couldn’t help but wink back. From that point on Watford’s season was all but derailed, and Silva was sacked soon afterwards with “The Hornets” form plummeting.

Richarlison was not too impressed with the sacking of the Portuguese star taking to Twitter to post an angry face in the wake of the sacking.

But that hasn’t stopped the Brazilian putting in good performances for new boss Javi Gracia, his skills and sheer confidence has impressed many and drawn comparisons to R9 himself Brazilian Ronaldo.

Despite Watford’s season being derailed by managerial change, the Brazilian takes it all in his stride. His rise to Premier League stardom with 5 goals and 4 assists so far this term is not a true reflection of his true skill, but with clubs like Chelsea hovering around the Brilliant Brazilian, it is clear that we will see a lot more of the Future superstar in years to come.
