Bayer Leverkusen have announced the signing of right back Tim Fosu-Mensah from Manchester United.

The 23 year-old has made the move to the Bundesliga outfit after coming through the Red Devils academy.

However, he fell out of favour at the club with Aaron Wan Bissaka and Brandon Williams both holding the right back spots at Old Trafford.

Loan spells at Crystal Palace and Fulham helped develop the Dutch defender, however a lack of playing time has seen him move to Leverkusen, just thirty appearances came Mensah’s way.

Mensah is likely to make his debut in the coming weeks with starting right backs Santiago Arias and Mitchell Weiser both out through injuries.

As well as right back, the Dutch international can also play at centre back as well as a defensive midfield role if needed. This depth is something that Leverkusen may need if they are to push for the German top flight title.
