Manchester City youngster Joel Latibeaudiere has recently stalled over a new contract as the defender has raised concerns over a lack of first team football, as reported by BBC Sport.
The 18-year-old has been linked with moves abroad after watching the successes of Borussia Dortmund youngster Jordan Sancho and RB Leipzig’s Ademola Lookman who is on loan from Everton.
Latibeaudiere captained the England side which won the U17 World Cup last year, beating Spain in the final.
After the World Cup the youngster said that a number of young English talent are starting to get recognised more: “If you look at the Premier League there are so many young English players getting their chance now.”
As well as Latibeaudiere having worries over the lack of first team appearances, City also find the young prospects wage demands unrealistic.
Sancho was also part of the squad that won in India last October before having to leave early due to first team commitments at his new club Dortmund. Sancho made 12 appearances in the Bundesliga playing alongside Marco Reus and Mario Gotze.
Another player who featured in the U17 World Cup, scoring in the final, was another Manchester City youngster in Phil Foden who has had an impressive breakthrough season at the Etihad, featuring ten times for the citizens in their title winning campaign.
