Ing The Merciless

When are Liverpool going to lose a game? Probably not this week but Danny Ings and his Southampton side are more than capable of getting a draw.

The fact former Saints player Mane is not available again really affects the way Liverpool play, this was more than evident over the last 2 games. Its unfair to suggest Liverpool need to play badly for Southampton to get anything, certain players need to win their battles and the most important one is Danny Ings.

He is enjoying his best Premier League season and on track to better his 13/14 season in the Championship for total goals. His skill set is a good all round game, jack of all striker trades master of none! Injury ruined his Liverpool career but he could be the thorn in their side come 5pm Sat afternoon. For all Saints players their energy levels need to be at their optimum, defending will start from the front and the main scorer. The longer the game goes without a goal The Kop will fret and this is when Ings can strike if given a chance. Its highly likely if they take the lead or equalise that Shane Long will come on to continue the front line block aid.

Another positive is that the other 2 key performers Saturday for Southampton will be James Ward Prowse and Nathan Redmond are both English. Like Ings they will hope they can produce some positive displays till the end of the season to push a way into the England Euro 2020 squad. What a way to start but against the best side in the world this weekend.

Please Danny Ings give the Premier League some hope with a mic drop performance halting your former side in their ultra confident tracks.
