Fulham appear to have had one of the best ever transfer deadline days in Premier League history. The newcomers have acquired five players today which brings their summer total to 11 new players. We previously reported Fulham's interest in Sergio Rico and Luciano Vietto but Sky Sports have now confirmed that those two, along with Joe Bryan, Timothy Fosu-Mensah and Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa have all officially signed for the London club.
Sergio Rico has signed for Fulham on loan and will add another element of quality to an already impressive squad. His experience at the highest level with Sevilla will give Fulham a huge boost in not only maintaining their Premier League status but pushing on further up the table.
Joe Bryan was the next to sign on deadline day as he completed his greatly anticipated move from Bristol City for an undisclosed fee. Fulham's Sporting Director, Tony Khan has cited the full-back as a "gifted young player" who is "a promising addition to the squad". Bryan will have the chance to link up with Ryan Sessegnon and Andre Schurrle on the left side of the field in what could be Fulham's biggest strength.
Following Bryan's arrival, Fulham announced the signing of another player on loan from a Spanish club. This time, Luciano Vietto would join Fulham on a season-long loan to further bolster an already threatening attack. The Argentinian has also played at the highest level with Atletico Madrid and will be determined to prove himself as a potential starter for his Spanish club in future years.
The fourth signing was Timothy Fosu-Mensah who also signed on loan for the Cottagers. He arrived from Manchester United on a season-long loan and his versatility is one of his best qualities. He'll slot into the Fulham defence anywhere and will bring Premier League experience to this Fulham side.
Their final signing, so far, is Andre-Frank Zambo Anguissa. The 22-year-old Cameroon international arrived from Marseille for around £22.3 million and has been labelled as a "world class talent" by Tony Khan. The Fulham Sporting Director was full of praise for the young midfielder and confirmed that he was one of Fulham's top targets.
This spree appears to have finished and has certainly prepared Fulham for an incredible season if they weren't already prepared. They've added quality to every part of the team and are certainly in better shape than some of the Premier League teams already in the league. They're the first Premier League newcomers to spend over £100 million in a single window and can hopefully use that to propel them to huge heights in their return to the Premier League.
