Four biggest games to look out for over the Easter weekend!

With the Championship and Premier League returning this weekend, here are four matches across the leagues to keep a close eye on, over this Easter bank holiday weekend.

#1 Saturday 15:00 GMT West Ham vs Southampton:

Saturday’s match at the London Stadium is a huge relegation battle encounter. The loser of the match, will likely go down as West Ham sit in 17th, two points clear of Southampton, who are in that final relegation place. The Hammers will need their fans to unite and put their off the field issues to one side and get behind the team for 90 minutes, in this huge match. With Southampton still having to face Arsenal, champions Chelsea and Leicester in the coming weeks, Mark Hughes men know only a win will do.

Prediction: West Ham 1-0 Southampton

#2 Sunday 16:00 GMT Chelsea vs Tottenham (Sky Sports):

This London derby, is always a match that promises lots of goals and controversy. However, Sunday’s match has an added importance as both sides, are chasing that final Champions League spot. Spurs, currently have the advantage over the Blues with a five point gap. Although, Chelsea will see this as the perfect opportunity to close that gap as their form at home to Tottenham, is outstanding as they haven’t lost at home in the league to Spurs since 1990.

Prediction: Chelsea 2-1 Tottenham

#3 Monday 17:30 GMT Portsmouth vs Wigan Athletic (Sky Sports):

Both sides, will be hoping to get promoted to the Championship, by the end of the season. Portsmouth currently sit 2 points outside the playoffs but Kenny Jackett’s men have gained a lot of confidence after back to back wins, for the first time this calendar year. Wigan on the other hand, will be looking to win League One, but are having to drive off stiff competition from title rivals Blackburn and Shrewsbury, the Latics are currently one point behind Shrewsbury but do have two games in hand. If the promotion meaning, wasn’t enough, Wigan manager Paul Cook will be returning back to Fratton Park, after leaving Portsmouth in the summer after winning them the League Two title. Pompey fans are expected to give a rowdy reception to their former manager, as most feel he went from legend to villain after his decision to ditch Pompey for a hefty pay rise, especially after being quoted last season saying: ‘the only club I’d ever leave Portsmouth for is Liverpool’…

Prediction: Portsmouth 1-3 Wigan

#4 Monday 19:45 GMT Sheffield United vs Cardiff City (Sky Sports):

Another promotion battle, this Easter weekend as play off hunting Sheffield United welcome title pushing Cardiff to Bramall Lane. The Blades sit 2 points adrift of the playoffs and know they need a win to keep their hopes of back to back promotions alive. The Bluebirds on the other hand, are the form team in the Championship, winning their last six games as they look to chase down a crumbling Wolves side, and go on to win the Championship title.

Prediction: Sheffield United 0-2 Cardiff
