Sky Sports are reporting that West Ham are working ‘very hard’ to finalise a deal for Felipe Anderson in what will be a club record transfer for the club. The two clubs remain in talks to finalise the agreement.
It is believed that a fee of £35 million for the midfielder has been agreed but there a number of other terms that need to be discussed. However, personal terms are not seen as a problem. Lazio are yet to give Anderson official permission to travel to London to speak to the club. It is thought that if those terms can be agreed by this afternoon (Thursday) then the player could be in London in the next 48 hours to undergo a medical and agree personal terms.
West Ham have been busy in the transfer market this summer and if they get this one over the line then Anderson will become the sixth summer signing following the likes of Andriy Yarmolenko, Jack Wilshere, Ryan Fredericks, Lukasz Fabianski and Issa Diop.
It’s another sign of the clubs ambition as they look to try and gatecrash the top eight positions in the table and make a charge for a European place. The Hammers appointed former Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini as the club new manager in the summer and promised investment in new players. They have not let the him or fans down on this promise.
Anderson is 25 years-old, he has one cap for Brazil and joined Lazio from Santos in 2013 and has a solid 5 years with the Italians. Since his arrival he has scored 34 goals in 177 appearances.
