It's that time of the year again! The 2017-18 Premier League season is on the horizon and so is the new edition of the popular Fantasy Premier League (FPL). This is the platform which helps generate a Josè Mourinho or a Pep Guradiola or an Antonio Conte in each and every household across the world. FPL is an ultimate test of footballing knowledge, decision making and endurance. So, we here at AOF decided to provide our readers with some guidance straight from our folks having a know-how of the intricacies of this ultimate test. We'd like to present to you the "must-have" players for this season's FPL straight from our AOF fraternity...

David Robinson, Editor-in- Chief, AOF              Team: Watford FC

FPL Pick: Wilfried Zaha   (CRY)         Price: £7.0m

Our gaffer, David has gone with a very solid pick for this season's FPL in Wilf Zaha. Any full-back's nightmare and a comprehensive box of tricks, Zaha has all the ammunition to rack up points over the season. With Frank De Boer assuming the reins at Crystal Palace, Zaha could form a formidable partnership alongside Andros Townsend and Christian Benteke. And at a price of £7.0m , the former Man Utd man is an absolute bargain in terms of performances over the past few seasons at Crystal Palace. Overall, an absolute MUST HAVE in any FPL team.

Danny Ward, Writer, AOF                                       Team: Burnley

FPL Pick: Sam Vokes (BUR)                 Price : £ 6.0m

Danny, here has a very interesting pick in Sam Vokes. The tall and powerful Welsh forward could prove to be a handful, especially given Burnley's style of play. Last season, Turf Moor was an absolute fortress impinged only by a selected few and Sam Vokes, got some really important goals over the course of the season. Vokes, alongside Andre Grey forms a pretty good partnership in terms of raw pace and strength in Grey and aerial ability in Vokes. Overall, a very solid buy, given the price tag of £ 6.0m.

Rhys Paul, Writer, AOF                                              Team: West Ham United

FPL Pick: Wilfried Zaha (CRY)             Price: £7.0m

Rhys, again with a very sensible and solid pick in Wilf Zaha. Consistent and mercurial can't be used to describe a person in the same sentence, but Wilf Zaha is just that. Box of tricks, assists and goals. A big FPL points haul is certainly expected of the now Ivory Coast international. Great men think alike, they say. Rhys and David certainly do!

Dan Anjos, Writer, AOF                                                Team: Sporting Lisbon

FPL Pick : Mohamed Salah (LIV)         Price: £9.0m

Mo Salah is certainly a tantalising prospect for any FPL manager and a great pick from Dan. At £9.0m, Salah just manages to sneak into the elite bracket of midfielders in FPL terms and deservedly so. A great season at Roma in the Serie A, a big money move to Liverpool and a place alongside Firminho, Coutinho and Manè forms a fiery front 4 for the Merseysiders. Raw pace to burn, assists and a keen eye for goal makes the Egyptian a solid buy for any FPL manager. However, that £9.0m price tag may prove to be a stumbling block in terms of allocating the funds, however Mo Salah is a very strong contender for a place in most FPL teams across the world.

Ryan Fisher, Writer, AOF                                             Team: Manchester United FC

FPL Pick : Marcus Rashford (MUN)   Price: £7.5m

Ryan, has picked a certain superstar in the making in Marcus Rashford. Debut at 19 and an almost instant hit among the Old Trafford loyalists. Now, Rashford still only 20 years of age, has an air of maturity and decisiveness about himself. With Romelu Lukaku, now alongside him, he has a strike partner who can complement his game with immense ease and effectiveness. Moreover, the flexibility that Rashford displays in terms of positioning makes his case for an FPL position even more potent. Assists from wing and goals when playing right through the middle and a striker in an elite side for just £ 7.5m, this could be Marcus Rashford's breakthrough season both in terms of the Premier League and FPL terms.

Siddesh Iyer, Writer, AOF                                            Team: Manchester United FC

FPL Pick: Romelu Lukaku (MUN)        Price: £11.5m

Now, I may be slightly biased here in picking Romelu Lukaku with Harry Kane also in the offing. However, given United's recent transfer activity, it appears that Lukaku is in position A1 to hit the ground running right from Day 1. Nemanja Matic at defensive midfielder would give Paul Pogba a licence to roam freely into the final third and this'd in turn result in loads of chances for his good friend and United's new number 9, Romelu Lukaku! Pace, aerial ability and deadly finishing propelled the Belgian beast to a formidable 25 goals at Everton last season, finishing second to only Harry Kane in the Golden Boot standings. Now, with better players around him and loads of assist providers in Paul Pogba, Henrikh Mkhitaryan and many others, Romelu Lukaku is certainly level, if not ahead of Harry Kane in terms of pre-season predictions for the Golden Boot. Every FPL side needs a marquee striker to rack up the goals tally and this could just be the right time to invest faith and money in Romelu Lukaku.
