Newcastle United #9 Dwight Gayle is a name not many championship sides will be forgetting any time soon. The 27 year old striker from East London has had an astonishing 20 goals in 22 appearances this season for the Magpies, the 2nd most amount of goals by any championship player this season in the league behind only one man by the name of Chris Wood who plays for Leeds United and has a staggering 22 goals this season. We can't forget the 2 assists he has accomplished this season that goes nicely with the 20 goals to his name. Unfortunately Gayle has been out for a good part of the season with a hamstring problem he suffered 14 games ago. However, he is now been medically cleared but is still taking a chance with the injury if he is to start against Huddersfield in Newcastle's next game this season and potentially his first game back. The Toon's fans look up to Gayle because of what he has done for the club this season, not to forget that this only his debut season for the club since he moved from Crystal Palace last season as Gayle didn't receive the amount of game time he desired and which he so desperately deserved in order to prove his worth to the club. Gayle and the other new signing made last season Matt Ritchie are the perfect deadly strike force that are sure to punish your defensive errors like they have so many times to championship clubs of all positions in the league. Dwight Gayle could be called the most promising striker in the championship.
