Premier League Champions Manchester City are interested in making an £88 million bid for Juventus winger Douglas Costa, as reported by TalkSport.
In his bid to retain the Premier League title, Pep Guardiola is expected to dip into the transfer market with Leicester winger Riyad Mahrez and Napoli midfielder Jorginho also targeted.
The Brazilian winger arrived at Juventus 12 months ago for a loan spell following a mixed spell at Guardiola's former club, Bayern Munich.
However, Costa, 27, could be on the move again with Italian media outlet Sport Mediaset believing him to be one of the first incoming transfers for Manchester City this season.
He managed 31 appearances for the Italian champions last season, albeit with only 18 starts. He did, however, manage 4 goals and impressed in Turin, causing Juventus to pay £35 million for his full time services earlier this month.
However, an £88 million bid may prove too good to turn down for Juventus, should Manchester City come calling. As they want to sign Sergej Milinkovic-Savic from Lazio, a hefty transfer fee like this would go a long way towards securing the funds for this transfer.
Douglas Costa had spent a season in Germany playing under Pep Guardiola, where he managed seven goals in 43 appearances in a season which saw Bayern Munich lift the Bundesliga and the DFB-Pokal.
However, his chances were limited when Pep Guardiola was replaced by Carlo Ancelotti, who preferred veteran French winger Franck Ribery.
Guardiola is believed to want to bring more fire power to Manchester City's already potent attack and the Brazilian winger could be just the man to do this.
