Cameron Jerome doubled the Rams lead 3 minutes later, converting the rebound after Tom Lawrence saw his effort half saved. Jerome’s first goal in Derby colours.
Derby dictated the tempo of the second half and looked in control throughout. Vydra and substitute Sam Winnall went close to making it three, but saw their efforts miss the target. Scott Carson was quiet throughout, but he was called into action on 68 minutes when he flew high to his left to deny Chris Mepham.
Matej Vydra rounded off the win from the penalty spot. Sam Winnall was brought down in the box, and Vydra made no mistake, slamming the ball into the bottom left corner, sending Bees goalkeeper Daniel Bentley the wrong way, making it seventeen for him for the season.
