Liverpool striker, Danny Ings has not reported for training at Melwood today as he prepares to depart the Merseyside club. Ings has reportedly had interest from a host of Premier League clubs with Southampton and Crystal Palace emerging as the favourites. According to Sky Sports, It appears that he has been allowed to miss training to ensure that he is ready to leave for a medical if a deal does get completed.
The 26-year-old appears to have his heart set on a move away from Anfield after failing to get sufficient game time in his three seasons at the club. Ings has suffered from injury problems and will hope those are behind him if a move does go through, however, it appears that the teams interested are currently not willing to pay the full £20 million price tag that Liverpool have put on him.
Although Crystal Palace were leading the race for the striker, they aren't prepared to pay the full amount. Danny Ings reportedly prefers Southampton to the London club but as the deadline approaches, he may have to settle for anywhere. Ings will still have the chance to go abroad after the English deadline but his preference is to stay in England.
