Why Chelsea have just won the league

It’s obvious. After only their fourth defeat of the season, Tottenham Hotspur have finally reached the end of the tunnel for this season. The match against the Hammers on Friday night left Spurs supporters lifeless after bringing on the pressure to Chelsea. The four point gap will now likely become seven when the Blues play Middlesbrough. As most might say, Spurs have “bottled it”. And as a Spurs supporter, I’m frustrated. Frustrated because, one, our 10 game win streak is gone. Confused. Confused because Pottchetino took off three players and replaced them at the wrong time.  Victor Wanyama for Janssen, not to mention how much of a flop he’s been this season. Poch also took off a crucial centre back, Jan Vertonghen for Mousa Dembele. Okay, Mousa is a key factor to our wins, but why not take off Son who didn’t attack much? Last but not least, he took off debatably the fastest player on the pitch, Kyle Walker, who had recorded 7 tackles and 3 interceptions. Kyle presses up and plays as a wing back, forcing him to carry his stamina with him as he runs up and down the wings. Emotional. Emotional because, whether supporters like it or not, but with Chelsea’s form at the moment, Spurs’ title chances are extremely slim. After tying with Chelsea last year, turmoil spilling, and Leicester winning the league, “yids” are not happy at all. It would take a miracle for Spurs to come out with this one. Chelsea now only need 6 points to secure the title.

Chelsea have West Brom, Watford and Sunderland after their Monday Night game which really does make for grim reading for Spurs and following a defeat in the FA Cup semi-finals it’s going to be another trophy-less season despite all the positives.
