1st Place - Newcastle United - 73 Points in 34 games

First place in the championship after 34 games is the unstoppable magpies. The Toon are unbeaten in there last 8 games with there latest win coming against Brighton and Hove Albion in spectacular fashion with the final goal from Mo Diame very much so a fluke as it hit off the side his foot and rebounding into the goal. The star men for them this season have been Dwight Gayle and his strike partner Matt Ritchie. The two have been inform ever since the get go off the season with a unbelievable goal tally between them of 28 goals. 20 of them coming from the currently injured Dwight Gayle who has had 20 goals in 22 appearances for the magpies this season.

2nd Place - Brighton and Hove Albion - 71 points in 34 games

Brighton and Hove Albion have had a dream of a season with them currently sitting in 2nd place behind the inform Newcastle United. The Seagulls have had a run for the ages with them very much still in contention for the EFL league title. Unfortunately for the seagulls, their past game in the championship to date ending in a 2-1 loss coming at the hands of the magpies with a lucky late minute goal coming from Mo Diame. The star player for Albion this season so far has definitely been the number 17 Glenn Murray with 17 goals to his name currently putting Albion in a great spot for contention of winning the lead.

3rd Place - Huddersfield Town - 65 points in 33 games

Just below Brighton and Hove Albion at the top of the playoff positions is Huddersfield Town with 65 points but have a game in hand on Albion and United. Huddersfield started the season off in tremendous fashion with them leading the way at the top of the league for 15 games. But unluckily for terriers they started to slip points for silly mistakes and so they dropped down the rankings a few positions. But, Huddersfields resilience really came through and a few games ago they started there extraordinary comeback which has got the Toon and Albion very worried. The star man for Huddersfield this season to date has been their top goal scorer with 10 goals this season Elias Kachunga. With his form increasing rapidly, who's to know what's to come from the terriers.
