Wigan Athletic currently sit in 22nd, one point in-front of Blackburn Rovers and are two points of Bristol City. Wigan have looked very likely of relegation for a while now.
Wigan have a huge game coming up on Saturday against Blackburn Rovers. This game will really prove if Latics are good enough to stay up.
Wigan started the season of with a loss against Bristol City, then went on to beat Blackburn at home 3-0 and the season looked bright. After Blackburn, Wigan did not win a game in seven league games.
Gary Caldwell was sacked on the 25th of October due to a poor set of results. Wigan fans reacted to this sacking, not very happy.
@LaticsOfficial what! Was not expecting that, deserved more time if you ask me??

@LaticsOfficial shocking decision from the club – you should know better than making knee-jerk reactions

Then….. ex Manchester United manager, Warren Joyce was confirmed as the new Wigan manager. Warren Joyce has played 21 games, winning 5 of them, drawing 5 and losing 11 while he has been Latics manager.
In December, Latics did not win a single game. Under Joyce, Wigan have had some very disappointing results, but some very good results and performances.
I think Wigan could just stay in the Championship, we have some “easy” games coming up in the next few weeks including, Blackburn, Birmingham and Bristol. With Blackburn and Bristol City being right near us and Birmingham a bit further up in the table, 9 points is expected out of these games. Joyce has a massive role to keep us in the Championship and hopefully can do it, if Joyce does keep us in the Championship I think he will have to change the team to suit his style of play. I think it will finish:
21 – Wigan
22 – Bristol City
23 – Blackburn
24 – Rotherham
