This seasons Premier League is reaching the end with just a handful of games left. There has a been a lot of stand out players this season in the Premier League, in this article I will look at players who have stood out this season.
Mohamed Salah has been suberb this season for Liverpool, after signing for £34 million in the summer which is looking like a right bargain in the modern day football market. The Egyptian scored on his debut for Liverpool and since then he has been simply mesmerizing to watch, with his fantastic footwork, lightening pace and brilliant work ethic. Salah has scored 28 Premier League goals in just 30 games, which is a phenomenal achievement for a player who was deemed not good enough just a couple of years ago by Chelsea. The Kop have already taken Salah to their hearts. Salah has earned plaudits by many Liverpool legends, especially Steven Gerrard who was quoted as saying “we are witnessing the start of greatness”.
Manchester City have been on another level of brilliance this season, with many stand out players and David Silva has been without doubt one of their shining stars. The Spaniard has been in the Premier League for eight years now and his performances just seem to get better and better each season. This campaign under Guardiola Silva has got even better (if that’s at all possible), Silva has scored many crucial goals this season including two sublime finishes against Stoke and helped Man City extend their lead at the top of the table.
Another stand out performer this season for Man City has been Raheem Sterling. Sterling is a player who has improved his all round game under the the guidance of Guardiola. This season the english player has been a joy to watch with his terrific footwork and his ability to make top class defenders look silly with his turn of speed. Sterling’s major improvement this season is scoring goals on a consistent basis, he has scored 15 goals in 26 League games which is a huge advancement on his previous seasons. One of Sterling’s most important goals came in August as he scored a stoppage time winner against Bournemouth.
Kevin De Bruyne
The third Manchester City player on this list is Kevin De Bruyne. The talented Belgian has been in terrific form this season contributing to 14 assists and 7 goals in 27 League games. De Bruyne’s ability to see things on a football pitch is unreal. The Belgian passing is a massive asset to Manchester City and easily splits defences open with his inch perfect passing. De Bruyne was another player deemed not good enough by Chelsea but has gone on to become one of the Premier League’s best players.
Chelsea have been very inconsistent this season, but one player whose performances never dip is Kante. The French player has been in the Premier League for 3 seasons now,and has already played a huge part in Leicester’s fairytale league winning campaign, which earned him a move to Chelsea and also helped them win the league the following season. The current season has been very indifferent for his team mates, but Kante has been Mr consistent once again for his team and is rightly regarded as one of the best defensive midfielders in the League.
