Ramsey celebrates scoring for Arsenal against Stoke City

New Arsenal boss Umai Emery is said to be keen to retain Ramsey’s services after becoming a pivotal part of the squad last season with 21 goals and assists in 32 appearances, as the Gunners endured a poor season under Arsene Wenger.

Ramsey, who is currently over in Los Angeles with the Wales squad and captained the side in Tuesday’s 0-0 stalemate with Mexico after Ashley Williams first half departure, has played over 200 Premier League matches for the Gunners over the last nine seasons which has been marred by a number of injuries including having his leg broken back in February 2010 against Stoke City.

Former Premier League players have spoken about the importance of Ramsey staying in order for the Gunners to progress with club legend Martin Keown saying Arsenal should be ‘desperate’ to keep hold of Ramsey. Also, new Wales manager Ryan Giggs has insisted that the arrival of a new manager could improve the player as he has only ever known the Arsene Wenger way.

Ramsey, the fan favourite, has already spoken of the excitement of new manager Umai Emery’s appointment saying: “I think it’s an exciting time for the club and I can’t wait to get back there now”

Arsenal fans have already shown their fondness of the classy midfielder, who could prove to be a key player in the future of Arsenal Football Club as they strive to get back into the Champions League.
