Arsenal 2021 Summer Transfers – Review

Well, the windows over. Like all over teams, Arsenal have made some signings and released, loaned or sold players from their squad. With the current horrific state we are in, I feel that my team could have/should have made more of an effort this window regarding certain areas. For example, I personally believe we could have gotten an Aouar or an Aarons all day long. But, we didn’t get to that unfortunately. However, we have made a couple of good signings that made us the highest spenders of the 2021 Summer Transfer Window. So, let’s have a look at them.

In -:

Nuno Taveres -: I’m happy with this one. With Kieran Tierney being injury prone, we needed a back up left back. I would rather have Tavares in his place over Kolasinac any day of the week.

Albert Sambi Lokonga -: As you all know, I do not think Granit Xhaka is a good enough player to be at Arsenal. I feel my point was made crystal clear after he was sent off at Manchester City. So, I’m over the moon with Albert. He’s been our best player so far in my opinion. Him and Partey is the two in midfield I’d much prefer.

Ben White -: Our most expensive signing at £50,000,000. I feel we’ve made a massive improvement in the defensive area. I just hope he gets in over Holding now. I do however feel that the price was a bit over the top. But, that’s what you have to spend to get good players sometimes.

Martin Odgaard -: I said it before and I’ll say it again. I’m so, so happy we managed to bring him back on a permanent basis. As much potential and talent Emile Smith-Rowe has, I prefer Martin in the team. He’s a starter for me every game unless he gets injured.

Aaron Ramsdale -: I admit I had my doubts with Ramsdale. But after the West Brom game, I’m happy to say he proved me wrong. I’m glad we didn’t have to pay a ridiculous amount of money for him though. I feel £24,000,000 was enough for him. If Leno isn’t playing well, I’d put Ramsdale in his place to make Leno fight for the position.

Takehiro Tomiyasu -: This one I’m a little concerned with. My main question is have we just bought him to get into the Asian market or is he a good player? He must have talent if Arsenal are bringing him but I remember Iniacho and he was crap. We ended up shipping him to Fulham he was that bad. However, like with Ramsdale, I need to give him the benefit of the doubt. I hope he shows he’s good enough to play for us.

Out -:

David Luiz -: Contract expired. I was sad to see him go. I hope he is successful in his next venture.

Joe Willock -: I feel like Arteta made a mistake selling him. His performances at Newcastle last season warranted his stay for me. But, we sold him. I wish him well at Newcastle but I feel we’ve made a mistake in that area.

Willian -: His release was inevitable. I had high hopes for Willian last season but he just didn’t cut it. I hope he’s happy back in Brazil and I wish him nothing but the best.

Konstantinos Mavrapanos -: Loaned him out again. He was one of Arsene Wenger’s last signings. I hate the fact we keep loaning him out. If Arteta isn’t going to play him then he might as well sell him or it’s just a waste to keep paying the wage split for him.

Matteo Guendouzi -: Again, I don’t feel we should have just let him go. I like him. I think he would have made a difference if we kept him this season. This is just a obvious showing of Arteta’s stubbornness and moronic decisions. I hate that we just gave up on him.

William Saliba -: For God’s sake, stop abusing him, Arteta. He’s shown he is first team worthy after his spell at Nice last season. Just play him, you idiot. Stop wasting his talent at other clubs when he could use it in our defense.

Lucas Torreira -: Again, Arteta, you made the wrong call! Stop playing Xhaka when it’s so clear and obvious he doesn’t care about this club! Bring back Torreira or pack your stuff! (Which you should do anyway!!!)

Hector Bellerin -: One of the only loans I agree with. He needs improving. If this loan spell doesn’t, then we should sell him. Simple as that.

Reiss Nelson -: I don’t think he’ll have any chance of getting into the first team with Saka and Pepe in the right mid position anyway. This loan spell will do him well, I feel.

Runar Alex Runarsson -: He needs this loan spell. He simply must improve. I still feel he has the talent.

New Contracts -:

Kieran Tierney -: So happy he’s here to stay for a long time. He’s been our best player along with Saka for the last two seasons in my opinion.

Granit Xhaka -: Now this one is just a complete idiotic move by Arteta. After the Man City game, I am even more convinced that Arteta has made another mistake. Xhaka clearly does not care for us. He can’t play football, he can’t pass a ball and his work ethic is terrible. We should have sent him packing to Roma when we had the chance
