Following midweek Carabao Cup action, the Premier League approaches its first landmark, the 10 game point. At this point we’ll have a good enough idea about what the season might hold for each club even with such a long way to go. You could probably apply the same thoughts to Fantasy Premier League where many might have already given up, be lingering with a fair shot at the title or sitting nicely at the top of the pile. With over 600 members of our league we once again try and offer our best shouts for the players that can make all of the difference.
Ryan Fisher – Abdoulaye Doucoure – £5.4m
The Frenchman has been Watford’s most consistent and impressive performer for quite some time now, while he may have be an unfamiliar name to many, his four goals have helped Doucoure gain the recognition he deserves. In fact Doucoure has scored all four of his shots on target. Marco Silva’s man is deployed to get all over the pitch and does join in with attacking play meaning this is a shrewd piece of business if recent months are anything to go by.
Luke Marsh – Mo Salah – £9.1m
Only 8 players better Salah’s 53 points in the entire game, the Egyptian has been a real hit with the Reds so far with his blistering pace and movement. He actually isn’t the most clinical player in front of goal but is always a huge threat on the opposition goal which means Salah is a must have in what is a formidable Liverpool side going forwards. With Huddersfield visiting Anfield this Saturday, where Klopp’s men haven’t lost, it’s all set for Salah to bring home more points should you select him.
Mark Docherty – Shane Duffy – £4.5m
An absolute steal of a price, Duffy and fellow centre back partner Lewis Dunk have been gaining some rave reviews after some impressive performances for the Seagulls this season. Chris Hughton’s men like to keep it tight at the back with Duffy at the heart of everything good defensively, the giant defender will be a threat to sides in the opposition penalty box so if you don’t have Duffy in by now, you should.
David Robinson – Virgil Van Dijk – £5.4m
With Van Dijk missing the start of the season, you could gain an advantage by placing one of the best defenders in the league in your side. Southampton take on Brighton at the AMEX on Sunday which is crying out to be a low scoring game. Over the course of the season it’s more than likely Van Dijk will be a standout performer, picking up bonus points and more than likely clean sheets to match so a player that can get you ahead of the competition.
