With the Championship just over a week away we look at who is the most likely to hit the back of the net the most this season. These players should all be key men for their clubs and being able to get the all important goals can make the difference as to where their respective clubs finish come the end of the 46 games. With a lot of money being spent on some fine strikers the pressure is on to deliver but it’s what you pay the large amounts of money for. Here are my top four strikers who will be feared by Championship defences this season.
1. Dwight Gayle
After an impressive period with Peterborough in the Championship netting 13 goals in 29 games, Gayle sealed his move to newly promoted Premier League outfit Crystal Palace.
Gayle struggled to make an impact and rarely got into the first team, overall netting just 26 goals in 74 appearances.
He sealed a 10 million pound move to recently relegated Newcastle United and he is my early championship prediction for the top scorer of the 2016/17 season.
2. Aleksandar Mitrovic
Another Newcastle United striker on the list is the former Anderlecht striker who netted an impressive 36 goals in 69 games which sealed the Serbian a move to the Premier League.
He struggled to make the impact many thought he would have in the premier league, his 9 goals in 34 games could not help in saving Newcastle United from the drop.
With Mitrovic having experience at a high level and the Newcastle team that surrounds him, he is my pick for a contender as the Championships top scorer.
3. Ross McCormack
The Scotsman is my third choice to be this seasons top scorer, he has lit the Championship up in the past three seasons.
Starting of at Leeds United his last season at Elland Road was one to remember netting 29 goals and becoming the runner up to Danny Ings for Championship player of the season.
Ross sealed an 11 million pound move to Fulham in the summer and was ready to fight for a immediate return to the Premier League with the Cottagers, now at the end of the second season he is the man to turn to for Fulham scoring 38 goals in two seasons at Craven Cottage.
With McCormack’s experience and flair I am confident that Ross will be up their in the 20 goal mark this season.

4. Glenn Murray
We now turn to 32 year old Glenn Murray having sealed a loan move to Brighton, Murray is sure to have an impact on the 2016/17 season.
Murray became a Bournemouth player last season and helped them fight for survival. He scored a vital goal against then Premier league champions Chelsea to secure a victory for the Cherries.
The forward’s best season came in the 2010/11 season for Brighton when he netted 22 goals becoming runner up to Craig Mackail-Smith.
Murray has experience and an eye for goal and his age is not a barrier in him becoming this seasons Championship top scorer.
