Things are looking bleak for the Swans who sit in the relegation zone of the Premier League with the half way stage approaching. This is a club that not too long ago, never flirted with the drop with their eye catching football and talented technical side. They are now seriously facing relegation and manager Bob Bradley is already under pressure despite being appointed in October. Here are three well known Premier League players that I think can provide Swansea with a massive boost in January to ease their survival worries.

Leonardo Ulloa – Leicester City

Linked with a move to the Liberty Stadium in the summer, Ulloa has never looked like featuring heavily under Ranieri at Leicester and following a summer spending spree for the Foxes which involved spending over £40 on two strikers, Islam Slimani and Ahmed Musa, Ulloa finds himself at the back of the pack bearing in mind Jamie Vardy and Shinji Okazaki were already at the club. Therefore this deal seems a heavily realistic option but of course would Ulloa really provide the Swans with enough fire power to get to safety?

I think he would certainly strengthen the squad and importantly fit the Swansea system. He fits the previous mould of the type of striker that can hold the ball up with his back to goal but is equally adapt at finding the net playing as a lone striker. You could argue he is possibly too similar to Llorente however Ulloa is fairly Premier League proven. 11 Goals in his first season indicates a good return which means I think this should be a serious consideration for a Premier League player in what will be a difficult market to operate in.

Fabian Delph – Manchester City

A risky deal for a couple of reasons, firstly Delph is injury prone which has seen the Englishman miss any chance of featuring for Manchester City this season. That itself is not an attractive proposition when fighting relegation, you need key players available for as many games as possible. His high wages also may be a stretch too far should a reasonable fee be agreed. Delph would be an inspired signing though provided he can get fit and of course that is a pivotal factor. His drive from midfield and quality has been shown at Aston Villa and this would once again benefit the spine of the Swansea team. With survival because of the Premier League fortunes making it crucial clubs keep their place, competition in and around them are likely to be splashing the cash should the opportunity itself. Transfers are always a risk and this is certainly one but you have to take risks to gain reward and that could certainly be the case here.

Ashley Young – Manchester United

You would imagine Young is surplus to requirements now at Manchester United. He has been linked with a move back to Vicarage Road with Watford so his availability looks to be there. It might be a case of the Red Devils shipping him off although once again wages could be a stumbling block. In terms of ability the 31 year old is a fantastic crosser of the ball and he certainly still has a lot to give. What would be more encouraging is his attitude under Mourinho this season which the Portuguese boss has praised. He has during his stint put in a shift at full back when needed and while Swansea wouldn’t want him in this position, they would be investing in a player likely to be up for the fight. This is once again another player that I think would suit Swansea. A player with technical abilities and delivery into the main striker would be valuable. Not only this but they would acquire a player who is more than accustomed to the league so it is a safe bet in that regard.

Swansea fans, what do you think to these players? Would they all be good signings? Let us know in the comments below!
