After a horrible season last campaign Charlton are going into League 1 with a positive attitude, with the appointment of Russell Slade and the signings of Nicky Ajose, Lee Novak and Ricky Holmes there is a glimmer of hope returning to the Charlton Fans. Even though we have made 3 top signings, I don't think the signings should end there. Below are 3 more additions I believe we should make to ensure we achieve promotion back to the championship at the first time of asking.

Lewis Buxton - Free Transfer

Lewis Buxton could be a fantastic signing for Charlton, and would fit in really well under Slade's Guidance as Slade is looking for experienced English players who can fight for the shirt and play with pride which is needed to win a competitive League One. Buxton can operate in any position along the back four and is a very versatile player which means he wouldn't have to push fan favourite Chris Solly out of the side. Buxton is currently on trial with Charlton and played 45 minutes in the annual pre-season clash against Welling. He had a very strong half and looked very fit even at the age of 32. Buxton will be given other chances to play over the next couple of weeks in the remaining pre-season fixtures and if he continues to play like he has been then he could be playing into SE7 come August.

Josh Murphy - Norwich City

Over the next few weeks Charlton are set to lose one of there key men in Gudmundsson, which means Slade will set out to find a replacement. I believe the perfect replacement could be Josh Murphy, the young winger scored 7 goals last season while on loan at championship MK Dons, he also won Player of the year and was the top assister for the MK Dons. Having a young player such as Murphy is also a bonus as little is expected of him allowing him to play with no fear. Murphy is a wanted man and could actually play first team football for Norwich next season so League One would be a step down for the young man but I believe if the offer is right then Josh Murphy could become a Charlton player!

Michael Turner - Norwich City

If you want someone with experience then Turner is your man, with well over 250 appearances in his successful career I think everyone would agree that Turner would be a class signing at League One level. Turner made 9 appearances for Sheffield Wednesday last season and gave his all in every game he played in so he is definitely a player who Charlton fans would want at the club. I think every fan in SE7 will agree that Turner will definitely be a better signing than Naby Sarr who we signed this time last year, and it has been Rumoured that Turner is looking for first team football and a move back to the club where he started his career at, could guarantee that.

Would you take any of these players Charlton fans? Let us know in the comments below!
