What Will Jack Payne Bring To Oxford United?

Jack Payne has arrived at Oxford United on loan from Premier League new boys Huddersfield Town with the hope of making a massive impact in League One.

The 22-year-old attacking midfielder is known for using his blistering pace to cause havoc for defenders. Payne’s stand out moment of last season was his goal at St James’ Park to secure Huddersfield a memorable 3 points. He will be looking to bring the U’s to the second tier for the first time since 2001. But how can Payne improve the Oxford side?

Pep Clolet will be looking to partner Payne up with Wes Thomas or Robert Hall to create one of the most lethal attacking forces in the first division. After losing top scorer Chris Maguire to Bury, Clolet will want to create an attacking team to show that they can cope without Maguire. Payne could be one of the crucial players in the U’s season. He will not just score goals, he is also an incredible support and come next summer United will definitely struggle to try and sign him on a permanent deal.

Payne has already made a huge impact in an Oxford shirt after bagging two assists in there League One opener against Oldham. This could be the club when the 22 year old finally proves his worth and proves that he is a top player.
