THE SON WAS SHINING IN MOSCOW

 Written by Tyler Rose

Son is continuing to shine, sorry for the pun, in a game where Tottenham Hostpur dominated possession, had 22 shots away from home and to only win 1-0 baffles me, it absolutely baffles me. It was Son’s goal in the 71st minute that ensured Spurs left the Arena CSKA with all 3 points in their second game in the Champions League this season.

Manager Mauricio Pochettino is pleased with the work that the South Korean is showing. The manager said “He is on fire and to keep this form is very important for us”. I saw Son has a back-up player, someone who would probably start a handful of games, how wrong my judgement was. It was a great choice to stay at the Lane, he was rumoured to leave the team in the Transfer Window, he’s proved that he is no ‘cup player’ or a player to make up the numbers in the squad, he’s a starter. Every fan,  player and manager wants their teams to win, you can only win by scoring goals, Son is doing just that.

The Argentine started Son on the left hand side of the 3 behind striker, Vincent Janssen. Pochettino substituted Janssen for summer signing Georges-Kevin N’Koudou and moved Son to the striker position. Do you think Son will be as efficient up front as he is out wide? The substitution saw N’Koudou play on the left of midfield to use his blistering pace, many say he’s faster than right back Kyle Walker, which I’m shocked about myself.

With crucial players missing, Danny Rose, Eric Dier, Mousa Dembele, Moussa Sissoko and fans favourite Harry Kane, this shows how strong Spurs’ squad depth really is. Millions of Tottenham Hotspur fans, including myself are praying that all are fit for the top of table clash with Manchester City on Sunday, you’d be a fool to miss it. Striker Harry Kane is the only player to be ruled out for the match after suffering from ankle ligament damage. Mauricio said that he was rather pleased with Kane’s scan results as he’ll be back sooner than expected.
